RED CHAMBER's First Brand Art Exhibition|Reflection
Since its founding in 2020, RED CHAMBER has drawn inspiration from the relationship between humanity and nature. From the minimalist philosophy of the Jane series to the pure aesthetic foundations of the HARUKI series, the brand explores the rich spectrum of human experience through color—expressing a quiet yet powerful resistance to nihilism.

Beauty lies in being fully present.
On October 15, 2023, RED CHAMBER hosted its “Reflections in Color” lab opening event at Xiansuo, Shanghai. As the brand’s first offline art exhibition, the event served as a special edition of “Reflection,” the inaugural chapter of RED CHAMBER’s sustainability cycle series.
Founder Mavis and co-founder Shen Jia shared the brand’s evolution, offering a deeper look into RED CHAMBER’s philosophy and unveiling its vision for a sustainable future.

The Origin of “Reflection”: Examination as Method
RED CHAMBER launched its first product—the RC HARUKI foundation, affectionately known as the “little medicine bottle”—in the year of its founding. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in Chinese beauty: one centered on clean, conscious formulations. Soon after, the brand introduced the RC Multipurpose Cream, which quickly went viral.
These products introduced many consumers to the concepts of clean beauty and sustainability for the first time, prompting a shift in how cosmetics are perceived and valued.

Yet beyond growth in visibility and sales, RED CHAMBER has always aspired to something deeper: to communicate the true essence of sustainability as a way of thinking, feeling, and living.

To mark its third anniversary in October 2023, the brand chose to reconnect with the public through an immersive art exhibition—one that fully embodies its sustainable aesthetic vision.

The exhibition unfolds across four thematic spaces:
Reflection: View, Reflection: Life, Reflection: Fruit, and Reflection: Void. Through installation, media art, and spatial design, the exhibition invites visitors to examine excess, neglect, and transformation through the lens of cyclical change.

This journey of “Reflection” encourages us to open new doors of thought and perception. In reflecting, we reveal unseen truths, expand our understanding, and reimagine what’s possible.

Each of the four spaces exists in perpetual dialogue—reminding us that reflection, like sustainability itself, is a continuous and evolving process.
